Harlan Brewster was Premier of British Columbia.  He was first elected to the Legislature in 1907, he served as leader of the opposition from March 1916 until he became Premier in the November 23, 1916 election.

Harlan Brewster became a sailer and later a printer before moving to British Columbia.

Brewster promised to end patronage in the civil service, end political machines, improve workmen's compensation and labour laws, bring in votes for women, and other progressive reforms.

The government brought in women's suffrage, instituted prohibition, and combated political corruption before his unexpected death in 1918. He is interred in the Ross Bay Cemetery in Victoria, British Columbia.
