Alexander Mackenzie was the 2nd Prime Minister of Canada (November 7, 1873 – October 9, 1878).
Alexander Mackenzie died on 17 April 1892, after being bedridden as a consequence of a fall near his home in early February. He did not have a state funeral. But attendances at services in Toronto and Sarnia were very large, and much public respect was paid the man. (Dictionary of Canadian Biography)
