Ken Danby is recognized as one of the world’s foremost realist artists and best-known in Canada for his iconic hockey painting, At The Crease.

On September 23, 2007, Danby collapsed while on a canoe trip in Algonquin Park near North Tea Lake with his wife Gillian Danby and friends. The party summoned help, but paramedics were unable to revive him. Hi interment location is unknow.
