Northern Dancer is buried in a cemetery at Windfields Farm, Oshawa, Ontario. The cemetery is located near the stallion barn, and includes some of the most important names in Canadian horse breeding. Northern Dancer's body was loaded onto a special trailer and driven to suburban Toronto for burial in a satin-lined coffin that was built for him six years ago in anticipation of the return of the greatest horse ever bred in Canada.
